After more than 15 years in the agency biz, I've been mulling over the situation of so little accurate information getting out to actors, models and even younger talent and parents wanting to break into the biz  So I'm putting together some video blogs to answer the 'BIG QUESTIONS' that beginners and even advanced actors have about 'the business of the business.' or 'the politics of making it in Hollywood.' Or even just how to move through the Hollywood schools, photogs, reels etc.

So I'm opening up the floor guys and gals. I challenge you--tell me your 2 most pressing, burning, important questions about anything having to do with Acting, Modeling, Hollywoods inside secrets etc.. I'll try to incorporate the questions in my vlogs... Tell me...what are the questions that, if you could have them answered, you'd feel you were getting a little further down your career path as an actor and yes, even as a model. WHAT IF I CANT GET THE PROMO/TRADESHOW JOB I WANT?
Of course if any of the Assignments you try to select have ALREADY been selected by another Promotional Model, then you wont be able to assign yourself. It is a 'early bird gets the work' situation. ;0)

When you go to Demozilla, do a JOB BOARD search-- You may need to indicate a larger radius than the default 5 miles...that will help you to see what work is out there...put in number of miles you're willing to drive and you'll see whats within that radius. We'd recommend staying under 50 miles.

We recommend checking the job board at least once a week.
 
Also note, once you locate a job on the JOB BOARD you may want to make sure that you check for multiple dates on the same location. It might be a Friday/Saturday job or a Saturday/Sunday job at the same location.
Be sure to look at all dates and try to stay with same location if possible on all dates. Our Live Event Model Jobs start at $20 an hour and our tradeshow work can go as high as $50 an hour.

Are you hip to HBO's Togetherness? Get it together, man! A Talent Agent's must see tv...

A Talent Agent talks about shows he lives for....

Hi all,

Wanted to take a moment to tell you all that we are in the New Golden Age of Television if you havent figured it out yet....

Television has never been so exciting, intriguing and dare I say it...yes...sexy.

Combining these facts: the feature film industry has become such an expensive prospect, and fewer films are made every year in the USA, 

The films that are made must almost guarantee the investors a return on their investment thus mandating a 'crowd pleasing' film that relies on historically proven formulas.

Television cable channels and internet channels have exploded so that there is an unquenchable need for great creative content  (content is now the new word for art ;0) )

So for any actors or writers who still have some antiquated notion that the small screen is somehow 'less than' the silver screen---put a fork in that idea...its done.

With this in mind I will offer you this Talent Agent's personal 'CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT EPISODE' Television Favorites list.

This week, let's start with the new HBO Series by the Duplass brothers called TOGETHERNESS.  
LETS KEEP THIS SHOW ON THE AIR, PEOPLE!!!

Mark Duplass plays Brett Pierson, sound composer and husband to Michelle (played with complex subtle emotions by Melanie Lynskey).
Amanda Peet once again turns in a top notch performance, this time as Tina, Michelle's beautiful but absolutely spiritually lost sister.
Steve Zissis is an absolute inspiration as Brett's best friend and aspiring Hollywood actor, Alex Pappas.


What a fantastic show....

The writing is real. The show portrays the struggle to remain in love and energized in a long term relationship--certainly ground that's been covered before but here the characters are both so strong in their craving to figure it out, you can't help but root for them. Of course their are temptations and obstacles to this. The couple truly love each other but the thrill is gone and they dont know how to get it back. 
Anybody relate? 
I know I do.

Another major dramatic thread here is the path taken by Alex, Brett's best friend. Ready to chuck his life in LA and give up his Hollywood dream, Alex stays just a few more days before he plans to drive his belonging filled UHaul back to the midwest. In the process he falls in love with Michelle's sister Tina. Unfortunately his love is not returned but something about Alex causes Tina to question her shallow LA values.

Peter Gallagher turns in a wonderful performance as a Hollywood film producer and EVERY role is superbly cast by Jeanne McCarthy and Nicole Abellera of McCarthy/Abellera Casting.

Promo Models are beating the odds during economic downturns...

Did you know that Promo Models, Brand Ambassadors, Spokesmodels, Demonstrators--all of these consumer oriented folks--keep on working through good times and bad?

That's right.

Promo Models, Promotional Models, Brand Ambassadors--whatever you like to call them--actually keep finding work.

Why?

Because it's there!

Remember that the essentials for living are basically food, water, clothing and shelter.

After that everything is GRAVY.

What do I mean by that?

I'll tell you.

You see, any item that is not a requirement for living--and there are LOTS of these items--requires that people FIND OUT about it.

Ding Dongs, Pop Tarts, Chewing Gum, Dishwashing Liquid, Apple Sauce, Shampoo, Razors, Credit Cards, Auto products,--the list goes on and on.
But one thing all these products have in common is this:

THEY ALL NEED PROMOTION.

Now, more than ever, Products need promotio multiple media channels, not to mention cel phones and apps.

There is no 'one way' anymore to promote products (that arent necessary to sustain life) to the public.
Of course there are digital marketers who can drill down into different databases and find the consumers who tend to buy certain kinds of products.

But in the helter skelter of the internet, smart phone, 5,000 channels on television--how do these marketers get new consumers to try their products and achieve brand loyalty?

LIVE EVENTS. EXPERIENTIAL MARKETING.

Thats how.

Right now Advertisers, PR Companies and Marketing Companies are throwing money down, hand over fist, to gain access to consumers at LIVE EVENTS. They realized some time ago that getting the product IN THE HANDS (and sometimes the MOUTHS) of consumers is the very best way to generate positive feelings and associations with that product.

NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING beats actually tasting, sampling, experiencing a product.
Even non stop advertising cannot conquer the actual EXPERIENCE of a product in real life and in real time.

And that's why there's work out there for YOU.

If you know how to take care of your grooming, have good hygiene and know how to treat people courteously...
If you know how to generate excitement and to see the value in a product...
If you are an upbeat person with an outgoing personality...

YOU TOO can join the promotional revolution.

Because NOTHING beats having a live Brand Ambassador, a 'representative' of a brand to get the message out to people.

Available openings for Film/TV/Communications or Playwriting Department College/University Interns to join our Literary Internship program. Interns will learn the art of Readers/Story Analysts and learn to write script coverage.

Film/TV school background preferred.

In addition to reading scripts and writing coverage, interns may review Directors' reels.
